The pictures speak for themselves.

The Fraud Cortina Special Saloon won 4 British titles in the same year. Having started out as an apprentice at Bristol Aero Engines in 1953, Terry Sanger spent several years marshalling and developing himself as a driver at club level. Even though he eventually became a test driver for Marcos, he still pursued his own engineering projects, which gradually grew in scale year after year.

This car, and particularly its dominance, was the one thing that finally earned him recognition from Ford. He received a factory GT40 seat, as well as a drive in the 1969 Targa Florio, following on from his relentless development work and faultless displays of raw pace.

Rest in peace, Terry.
